The 5 Most Useful Essential Oils for Scorpio

October 22 - November 21

Planetary Ruler- Pluto

Element- Water

People born under the sign of Scorpio tend to be intense, powerful and determined. Theirs is the sign of transmutation and rebirth. They are quite intuitive and make excellent healers.

Due to their passionate, intense nature Scorpios tend to run fast and their energy can become depleted. An excellent oil to counteract this is patchouli. Patchouli helps heal emotional and physical stress while supplying extra energy. It is also useful in nurturing Scorpio's well developed sensual side. Jasmine and neroli help ground sexual overdrive and assist in opening up the softer more vulnerable side.

Scorpios can be either your best friend or your worst enemy and they tend to be slow to forgive and can hold grudges. Lavender, and rose geranium can help soften their heart and assist them in forgiving and moving on.

Make a blend just for Scorpio balance by mixing one part patchouli, jasmine and neroli with 2 parts rose geranium and 4 parts lavender essential oils. Adjust the amount of oils as you wish to suit your nose. Add your custom blend to diffusers, bath oil, massage oil or mix half and half with a carrier oil such as sweet almond oil to use as a perfume
You can find all these oils plus those for other signs of the zodiac here.

Myrrh and Patchouli

Before I get into the uses for these wonderful essential oils I would like to share the importance of doing a patch test before using a new botanical in any of your preparations. It's simple and only takes 15-20 minutes to find out if you or someone else is sensitive to an oil or botanical. Put a drop of the essential oil in question on a cotton ball and dab the inside of your arm right below the elbow. If any redness, itching or irritation occurs within the next 15-20 minutes avoid using that substance in any of your creations. MYRRH ~Myrrh has a warm, resinous scent that is soothing in states of stress, panic, fear, confusion and apathy. To use for this purpose, place a drop or two of the essential oil in a diffuser or bowl o f hot water to help disperse the scent throughout the room. A more portable solution is to take a whiff or two straight from the bottle. ~Myrrh is anti-inflammatory, anti fungal, antimicrobial and antiseptic making it a good addition to topical preparations...
