Essential Oils for Gemini
May 21- June 20

Geminis are an air sign ruled by Mercury. They tend to be lively, quick witted, questioning, and talkative which makes them great communicators and party guests. They are excellent problem solvers and very adept at adapting to any situation. Being the sign of the twins, Geminis are able to see both sides of an argument and can change their minds in an instant.
On the negative side the twins can be quick to lose their temper often with a sharp tongue and are prone to inconsistent moods. They are not necessarily reliable. If not kept entertained our Gemini friends tend to become bored and restless. Because they are governed by their mind rather than their emotions, they can be self-serving and self-centered at times.

As with all of the Zodiac signs achieving balance is the goal - Accentuating positive traits and refocusing the negative.
Essential oils that support a quick mind and help to focus thoughts are grapefruit, bergamot, rosemary, cedarwood, eucalyptus, ginger, and cinnamon.
Essential oils that help balance and center the twins are lavender, juniper, myrrh and neroli.
Oils to help bothe twins live in harmony are rose, orange, jasmine, chamomile and melissa/lemon balm.
Check back next week to learn about essential oils for the zodiac sign of Cancer.

Myrrh and Patchouli

Before I get into the uses for these wonderful essential oils I would like to share the importance of doing a patch test before using a new botanical in any of your preparations. It's simple and only takes 15-20 minutes to find out if you or someone else is sensitive to an oil or botanical. Put a drop of the essential oil in question on a cotton ball and dab the inside of your arm right below the elbow. If any redness, itching or irritation occurs within the next 15-20 minutes avoid using that substance in any of your creations. MYRRH ~Myrrh has a warm, resinous scent that is soothing in states of stress, panic, fear, confusion and apathy. To use for this purpose, place a drop or two of the essential oil in a diffuser or bowl o f hot water to help disperse the scent throughout the room. A more portable solution is to take a whiff or two straight from the bottle. ~Myrrh is anti-inflammatory, anti fungal, antimicrobial and antiseptic making it a good addition to topical preparations...
